About Us
Our Story
Fire Defense Systems (FDS) was born from fire—quite literally. On the side of a mountain in Wyoming, while actively fighting a wildland fire, Connor and Harrison envisioned a company dedicated to enhancing Wildland Urban Interfaces (WUI). This vision sparked the creation of FDS, a Colorado-based company committed to protecting critical infrastructure, insurance agencies, homeowners, and the next generation of wildland firefighters.

Founded by seasoned firefighters, FDS leverages over a decade of collective experience in fuels reduction, operational planning, and fire behavior analytics. Our journey began with a deep understanding of the challenges faced by those on the front lines of wildfire management. We recognized the need for innovative solutions that go beyond standard practices to create safer, more resilient communities.

At FDS, we work closely with our clients to establish robust policies for defensible spaces, forest health, fire mitigation, and fuel breaks. Through comprehensive stakeholder engagement, field analytics, and the expertise of our Wildland Subject Matter Experts, we develop detailed Master Plan Documents that guide future efforts. Our commitment to excellence extends to follow-up field visits, ensuring that our mitigation strategies are implemented effectively and exceed expectations.

Our story is one of dedication, innovation, and a relentless pursuit of safety. We are proud to be a firefighter-owned company that embodies the values of duty, integrity, and respect. Together, we are building a legacy of resilience, protecting communities, and paving the way for future generations of wildland firefighters.
We believe in hands-on support and accountability. Following plan development, FDS conducts field visits to ensure mitigation efforts meet rigorous standards and client expectations. This thorough approach guarantees an end product that is not only compliant but also effective in safeguarding against wildfire risks.
At FDS, we are committed to making communities safer and more resilient to wildfires. By combining cutting-edge technology with practical field experience, we deliver solutions that exceed expectations and set new standards in wildfire mitigation and preparedness.
